<dc:description>The collection comprises 4,000 specimens, but only 2,615 samples have been digitized, primarily representing the Upper Juruá Region. This region is located within the Brazilian Amazon, in the far west of Brazil, bordering Peru, and stands out for its extensive biodiversity, conservation efforts, and significant presence of traditional peoples, mainly indigenous; it also includes the Serra do Divisor National Park and other environmental preservation areas, five municipalities in Acre (Porto Walter, Cruzeiro do Sul, Mâncio Lima, Rodrigues Alves, and Marechal Thaumaturgo) and one in the state of Amazonas (Guajará). Regarding the collection, the most representative botanical families are Fabaceae (247), Rubiaceae (245), Melastomataceae (162), Arecaceae (161 samples), and Euphorbiaceae (46 samples). The incorporation of all collections will significantly expand the holdings. </dc:description>
