The CNMT-F Fungarium began its activities in 2018 and is housed at the UFMT – Sinop University Campus, within the Institute of Natural, Human, and Social Sciences (ICNHS), located in the municipality of Sinop, Mato Grosso. The CNMT-F Fungarium collection holds approximately 1,300 preserved specimens of lichens, microfungi, and macrofungi, originating from field collections carried out in the region, mainly in Amazonian environments, including the Amazon-Cerrado transition zone. The collection includes new records and new species for the Amazonian Phytogeographic Domain, making it highly valuable for advancing knowledge about the fungal biodiversity of southern Amazonia and the Amazon as a whole. The collection is currently in the process of being digitized (MS Office Excel).
