The collection contains aproximately 16,500 specimens representing especially biodiversity from Southern Pantanal. The collection includes species from the periodically flooded plain areas and species from calcareous, ferrugineous soils of morrarias, which are dry areas of the so-called Planalto Residual do Urucum. The collection also includes a representative wood collection of souther pantanal and souther pantanal ferns.
