The Environmental and Health Fungi Collection (Fiocruz/ CFAS) is part of the Reference Microorganism Laboratory of the National Institute for Quality Control in Health (INCQS), a technical- scientific unit of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ), in Rio de Janeiro. CFAS is a service collection that maintains filamentous fungi and yeasts, NB-1 and NB-2, of clinical and environmental origin, in addition to strains from products subject to surveillance, which are of interest to research and teaching areas. CFAS aims to provide fungi (yeasts and filamentous fungi) with a high degree of quality in the authentication, production and preservation processes, as well as receiving fungal deposits from tests related to quality control of products, inputs and environments, in addition to other sources related to public health.
