Collection of Spiders of the Ezequiel Dias Foundation was idealize in 2009 and established during execution of project Biota - Minas in 2011, initially counting with 868 specimens under governmental trust. The collection aims to contribute to the knowledge of the biodiversity of the Brazil, especially in State of Minas Gerais and to become a collection of reference in spiders. The present collection consists mainly of medically important specimens collected or obtained through grants in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. After the death, the animals are fixed in 70% alcohol, identified and incorporated into the collection.
