The herbarium (FURB) was created to homage Dr. Roberto Miguel Klein, a botanist and ecologist who studied the flora of Santa Catarina. The herbarium aims at holding collections and stimulating research on the diversity of the flora of Santa Catarina, especially that of the Parque Nacional da Serra do Itajaí. With a didactic wood collection and a teaching collection of mosses and ferns. The collection is digitized and can be easily searched for species and locality data. It is open for exchange, consultation, and loans. Donations of identified exsiccates are accepted.
