The Herbarium Montes Claros (MCMG) belongs to the Department of General Biology, it was established in 2007 and is located at the State University of Montes Claros (Unimontes). The MCMG has over 4,359 species of plants from different vegetation types in the region of Minas Gerais, belonging to cerrado, caatinga, dry forest, vereda and rocky fields. This collection of plants stores representative information of species being important for taxonomic, floristic and identification studies.
