The Bee Collection of MCT/PUCRS was started in 1983, with a partnership with the Tübingen University in Germany, to develop scientific research and train of masters and doctors. The Collection has specimens from several Brazilian states, especially Rio Grande do Sul, where there is high biodiversity, cases of endemism and endangered species. It represents the southern limit of several species distribution. The main services offered are access to experts for specimen examination, loan and material exchange with academic and scientific institutions and the permanent record of the vouchers and information.
