The Micoteca `Prof. Gilson Soares da Silva `has as main objective to preserve and provide phytopathogenic fungi cultures for diverse researches. It has 320 isolates divided into 53 fungal species, 36 genera. It is officially characterized as the only collection of phytopathogenic fungi in the State of Maranhão, supporting scientific research initiation up to PhD theses.
