The Herbarium of the Federal University of Acre (UFACPZ) was created in 1979 and currently has 20,000 registered specimens.
It has as main contributor, the New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) that helped increase the collection since the 90s.
Practically 100% of its holdings are from the Brazilian Amazonian flora.
Exchanges with neighboring countries, Peru and Bolivia,and the partnership with NYBG are maintained.
The herbarium is in the process of computerizing its data using Brahms.
