The Scientific Collection of parasitic mites at
the Natural History Museum of the Federal
University of Bahia (MHNBA) had its first record
in October 2020, through the species
Rhipicephalus sanguineus, removed while it
was parasitizing the snake Bothrops leucurus.
The collection was stopped for the following
years and only restarted recently, in 2023. It is a
small collection, where only 10 lots from
locations in the state of Bahia are currently
listed, with data organized in an Excel
spreadsheet.
