The didactical fruit collection of the Herbarium UFP belongs to the Botany Department from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Brazil. It was founded in 2000, due to a PROENSINO project (with grants from the Academic Department from the UFPE). Nowadays, it has 444 fruit, of which 211 are from the atlantic rainforest, 161 are from the `caatinga`(a type of dry savannah found in the semi-arid region) and 14 are exotic.
