The Herbarium of the Department of Biological Sciences, School
of Sciences, Bauru Campus, São Paulo State University “Júlio de
Mesquita Filho” (Herbarium UNBA) holds a collection of 6,100
preserved specimens of vascular plants and fungi. The herbarium
collection is particularly strong in angiosperm specimens from
seasonal semideciduous forest, riparian forest, and Brazilian
savanna of the middle-west region of São Paulo State. The
Herbarium UNBA was implemented due to the need to document
the biodiversity of plants and fungi from Plant Ecology, Botany,
Taxonomy, and Systematics research works. The digitization of all
groups is underway.
