The Porifera collection of the Museum of Zoology “Prof. Adão José Cardoso” located at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) has nearly 60 lots. The material is preserved in alcohol 70%. There are specimens from São Paulo (Southeastern of Brazil). The cataloging and digitalization of the collection are in progress using the MS-Access data bank manager. Most part of the collection has a scientific purpose, destined to researchers interested in Porifera.
